By decreasing the membrane-foulant affinity, strong anti-fouling effects can be created in fouling sensitive streams, resulting in higher and more stable process fluxes, and in specific cases in increased retentions as well. Obviously, we can reduce and prevent fouling in both aqueous and solvent environments.

Typical applications: treatment of difficult wastewaters such as humic acid polluted surface water, waters containing lignin, purification or isolation of antioxidants (e.g. polyphenols), peptides, fermentation broths… Excellent results are obtained with water/oil emulsions, e.g. in so-called produced water (oil & gas).
